5 beauty tips for mums to boost your confidence after giving birth

It’s one hundred per cent true that once you deliver your baby, everything changes. Not only does your daily routine change, but also the way you look and the overall state of your body. But if there’s one thing I’ve learnt when it comes to beauty tips for mums is that each woman should do something for themselves once they give birth to restore their confidence and reclaim a little bit of their pre-baby self if they can.

First of all, the minutes you spend on your beauty regieme will significantly drop because, let’s be honest, there’s no time for that! Secondly, you will be putting so much effort into your newborn baby that it’s highly likely that you forget about the way you look and wind up feeling totally blue about your appearance.

What do you need? A confidence boost! Here’s are some beauty tips for mums to get you started!

Keep your face clean

First of all, it’s very important that you don’t forget about your regular skincare routine. Yes, you have less time on your hands, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t have time for the Holy Trinity of skincare – moisturizing, cleansing and exfoliating. You should repeat these three steps on a daily basis, in the morning you wake up and in the evening before going to sleep. Seeing your face glow in the mirror is definitely a good a starting point as any!

Go with the brow

What is the most important feature of your face nowadays? Eyebrows! So, since you probably won’t have time to draw them on every morning, you might want to consider microblading.

Microblading is extremely popular nowadays, and the good thing is that it can save you a lot of time drawing your eyebrows on every time you want to leave your house, and you will always have the perfect shape that you’ve wanted.

Take note though: most inks used in microblading and permanent makeup are metal-based and therefore contain iron oxides. These inks may cause allergic reactions and could be detrimental to your health. With that said, be sure to seek out a service that uses organic ingredients from plants to produce pigments fit for all skin types which is a safer and friendlier option.

Stay active

’’How can I think about exercising when I don’t even have time for a regular cup of coffee without my baby crying?’’ is probably a question that you ask yourself more often than not. However, it’s not impossible to have a couple of hours a week only for you – you can always ask your husband, partner or a family member to take care of the baby while you’re doing something for yourself. Hitting the gym to regain your previous body shape or perhaps doing yoga might be great ways to earn back your self-confidence.

Get enough H2O

Water is so important given that we are 60% per cent made of it, and even though it might sound silly, it can be a solution to many health and beauty problems. It helps you stay hydrated and it keeps your skin elastic, which is very important once you hit a certain age. So the next time you’re thinking of drinking juice, think twice.

Consider a facial

As already mentioned, regardless of what you – or others! –  think, you deserve an hour or two to invest in you – don’t let that mum guilt get the better of you! Having a facial might sound extravagent but they are an amazing way or bringing out the best in your skin, smoothing out fine lines and providing a look of overall rejeuvenation.

Giving birth changes a lot of things. No, it changes everything.The most important thing is that you always feel good about yourself, and so hopefully the above will give you that little nudge you need to do just that.

  1. Everything you’ve said! Also, if you can find time savers that too. So BB creams, blush that works as a lip colour, highlighter that works as an eye shadow

  2. I always try to incorporate a light gentle exfoliant face scrub usually once a week and always a daily and night moisturiser.

  3. My eyebrows went awry and so did my skin – everywhere.
    I now cleanse, serum and moisturise twice a day and wear a hat outside.

  4. Over the past year I’ve developed an allergy to most products and it’s cost me a fortune to find something which won’t bring me out in blisters but finally I’ve found a routine. I use a Lush cleanser, tea tree oil as toner and avocado oil as moisturiser. I’d love to try this though.

  5. I wish I had read this after I had just had a baby, I looked like a mess! So many great ideas! YOu just tend to forget about yourself when you have a baby and we shouldnt!

  6. Cleansing and moisturising are important for me because as I age my skin is getting drier!
