Oh my aching uterus

Funny, motherhood, parenting

Oh what it is to be a woman. No sooner have we recovered from the car crash that was the first child and our first taste of parenthood, not to mention getting a beautiful full night’s sleep night after night; that mean old bully the uterus wades in there, punching her fists in the air, protesting that she wants to be kicked back into action again. Despite our brains quite clearly kicking their legs in protest – NOOOOOOO!

Somehow, the physical and the mental are just not meeting in the middle, not talking to each other, and so here’s a funny little skit in the form of a poem to make all those with protesting, desperate uteruses have a little laugh…

Oh my aching uterus

How loudly you do speak

You tell me you want another child

I can feel you literally tweak

Inside me from your longings and urge

But perhaps you should check in first

With my heart, my mind and hormones

That are still rather reeling from the very first

You operate on another wave length

It’s you and my ovaries, that protest

About how you’re now being totally ignored

You say I must act, at your behest

But woah slow down there uterus

I’m not sure if I’m ready for all that

You’re taking things way too far, too fast

We might end up in a spat

I’ll let you know if and when I’m good and ready

For now, I have other things I need to do

So please pipe down there madam uterus

Until it’s I, that am ready, not you

Does this describe anyone else’s uterus mayhem right now? I’d love to hear if you uterus has got a mind of it’s own too….
