I have been holding on to my picnic supplies from Trespass for what seems an age, waiting for Spring to finally burst over our country in all it’s glory, and now that it finally has frankly – I’m going to be picknicking left right and centre!
But anyone who goes on a picnic in this country knows that despite the relatively better weather, you need to be prepared and that means being practical and having the right picnic equiptment. Massive picnic hampers and furry rugs may be Pinterest worthy but conducive to a British picnic they are not.
Thankfully the good folks at Trespass – the outdoor lifestyle company – know that, and have a range of practical yet nicely designed items to make sure that you can be organised, dry and look the part all at the same time!
Their Throw Waterproof Blanket (was £19.99, now £9.99) is the perfect combination of practicality and style. Ensuring that your bottoms will stay well and truly dry as it doesn’t soak up not even one drop of damp from the ground, making it perfect for laying out for a relaxing picnic. It also means any spillages can quickly be wiped off, unlike with traditional rugs. Extra brownie points for being able to fold it up neatly and carry it easily back home, or hook it over your pram handle.
As a parent you always seem to be carrying a million and one things on any outing, so I really loved the easiness of their 4 Person Picnic Rucksack (was £46.99, now £23.49). Although it is very practical owing to the fact that not only can you carry it on your back , I love the fact that the contents inside are actually rather stylish for a family picnic.
This set comes with 4 plates, 4 cotton napkins and 4 sets of knives, forks and spoons and 4 plastic wine-style glasses. It also has a spacious main compartment for food and drink, once you’re done, all you need to do is pack your cutlery away into the front pouch with its designed storage areas and head off on the next part of your day. Scavenger hunt anyone?
Of course, keeping your food and drink cool and fresh is always important on a picnic, so to complete this set the Nuko 3 Litre Stay Cool Lunch Box (was £14.99, now £7.49) is a must to ensure your food stays cool until lunchtime. It’s easy to carry and has a large inner pocket containing an internal ice pack pocket ensuring maximum space for your food and drink.
Hang on a minute did I forget something? Of course, no picnic would be complete without some fun and games, and for ours the Blastoff Soft Throwing Rocket (£6.99) is our play thing of choice. Endless amount of fun lobbing this thing around and chasing after it!
Overall, I’m really impressed with all the items from Trespass we checked out for the picnic season. They make the overall experience so much more compact and practical, so rather than feeling like a mule, you can hop skip and jump over to your picnic destination with greater ease, and take your picnic gear along with you for other adventures in the great outdoors thereafter. Picnic anyone?
