As regular readers of my blog will know, I turned 40 this year – gulp! But here’s the thing about turning 40. This is the decade when your body’s production of elastin and collagen starts to slow down. I already had a few wrinkles around the forehead and the danger triangle of the face (that’s the area from the corners of the mouth to the bridge of the nose, including the nose and upper jaw), where wrinkle reduction was probably due.

I had also noticed that the area around the danger triangle had started changing. I don’t want to use the word drooping – as that seems a bit strong – but let’s just say that things were not as perky as before.

So when I was asked to try out the Silk’n FaceTite for wrinkle reduction and skin tightening, it seemed like perfect timing, especially as I’m a firm believer in investing in ourselves for today for a better tomorrow.

Introducing the Silk’n FaceTite Ritual for wrinkle reduction and skin tightening

Silk’n FaceTite is an at home anti-ageing device that tightens the skin, reduces wrinkles and crow’s feet, restores collagen and elastin fibres, leaving you with lifted, younger-looking and radiant skin.

Unlike other rejuvenation devices, FaceTite combines three energy sources in one device for greater efficiency: Bipolar RF (radio frequency) energy, LED light energy and IR (infrared) heat energy. The effectiveness of this combination has been researched in several clinical studies. In a blind independent review, before and one month after 20 fortnightly sessions, the results showed that 96% of participants had visibly fewer wrinkles, with no adverse side effects.

How to use the Silk’n FaceTite for wrinkle reduction and skin tightening

Before treatment, it is recommended to remove your makeup by using the Silk’n Bright facial cleansing brush that comes in the Facetite Ritual Pack to remove any remaining impurities. After that, you’re good to go!

The treatment is as simple as plugging in and turning on your FaceTite, applying some Silk’n Slider Hyaluronic Gel to the treatment surface of the device which comes with, and starting the treatment. Or, if you want to get an immediate tightening effect, you can use the Silk’n Hyaluronic Serum to. This comes in handy when you need to look good, quick because it’s a shortcut to achieving more youthful looking skin that lasts up to a day.

There are five different energy levels, which it’s best to work your way up to as quickly as possible in one sitting to achieve maximum intensity levels and results. When you first start a course, you will need to gradually increase the energy setting as your skin gets used to the warm heat sensation. With each week, as your skin gets used to it, you will be able to work up to the maximum setting very quickly, if not almost straight away.

I found that I needed to reapply additional gel a few times during the treatment so that it glided across my skin as intended, which is no biggie seeing as it comes with a plentiful supply!

For best results, it is recommended to use Silk’n Facetite Ritual twice a week, for ten weeks, for at least 15 minutes per treatment – thereafter using it for maintenance by using it once every two weeks.

My experience of Silk’n FaceTite Ritual for wrinkle reduction and skin tightening

Because I had been noticing a lot of changes around my nasolabial fold and depending of smile lines, I decided to concentrate on that area because I could see that things were not as quite a “tight” as they used to be. I noticed that after about five weeks of using my Silk’n FaceTite I saw a volume building and smoothing effect around this area.

I chose to focus on just one area that needed attention. As a busy mum, I could just about sneak in two fifteen to twenty minute treatments a week, but anything more would be quite a push! Having said that, it’s probably far more time-efficient than going to have time-intensive in-salon treatments. I decided that after I had gotten onto maintenance with this course, I would then tackle my frown lines separately!

Obviously, if you wanted to do more areas on your face then that would require a lot more effort and time – around 1.5hrs for a full face and neck. But on the flip side you would be saving a heck of a lot of money when compared to having a similar kind of treatment with a beauty therapist.

Things I loved about using the Silk’n FaceTite

  • It’s super easy to use at home – just plug in and use. No annoying having to charge or going to use and realising it’s out of charge.
  • It’s super lightweight and comfortable to use, with a long cord meaning you don’t need to sit directly next to an electricity socket while treating yourself
  • It is suitable for skin tightening and wrinkle reduction around lots of trouble areas including the forehead, cheeks, upper lip, neck, chin and jawline for women and men, suitable for all skin types and colours
  • It uses revolutionary home tightening technology using 3 energy sources for tightening giving you triple bang for your back plus regeneration and improvement of the skin structure
  • The 5 levels of treatment intensity mean you can work your way up to powerful results as suits you and your skin sensitivity
  • If you get it as part of a Silk’n FaceTite Ritual pack it comes with great extra goodies – as well as the Silk’n Slider Hyaluronic Gel, you also get a Hyaluronic Serum plus the Silk’n Bright facial cleansing brush and Silk’n hairband.

And the downside

The only downside is the treatment time – while it’s fine if you just want to do one specific area, obviously if you want to tackle more areas in one go, then that is going to increase your treatment time significantly baring in mind it’s to be used twice weekly for optimum results. Having said that, nothing worth having ever comes easy, and I’m thinking that this is a small sacrifice to make to keep our skin looking plump and youthful.

Summing up & going forward

I have been really pleased with the results I’ve seen whilst using the FaceTite round my triangle danger region, and have plenty of comments about how radiant I have been looking of late to back this up! It has definitely been worth the investment of time and effort during this turning point that my skin has been experiencing, and now all the hard work is done I can sit back and just maintain it by using it every other week.

Having said that, I probably won’t stop there. I have a forehead with increasing amounts of worry lines which needs some serious attention and I can’t wait to use the FaceTite Ritual to work its magic there too!

Where to buy & more information

FaceTite is available to buy on the Silk’n website or as part of the Ritual Pack.

    • This looks like great device and something I could really make use of. I like the idea of it being something you can do at home yourself to save time and money on trips to a beauty salon. You look amazing for 40!

  1. I need to try this for sure. I have several wrinkles that I am not fond of. If this could help, I’d be happy!

  2. Oh does it start at 40? Gosh! But I already started taking tons of collagen. Jk. You looked 30 btw.

  3. Now that I’m getting older, I realized the importance of taking care of my skin and I visit my dermatologist from time to time. I’ll definitely check out this product!

  4. I like the idea of this little regime, because you can do it all from the comfort of your own home. Even though I’m a beauty girl I’m not a fan of loads of facial treatments at the salon. I had an allergic reaction once and it scared me for life. But this sounds like a great set to use, I’d love to try it. I have started to notice more forehead wrinkles and they are becoming more visible so I think it’s an essential now. Be interested to see an update after a few months of use though.

  5. I turned 47 this year and I am not ready! I have been lucky but within the last year I have noticed aging. Again, I am not ready! Was always wondering if this type of thing worked. I am hopping over to check it out!

  6. I need one of these, my skin is finally showing my age, and i would love to be able to take care of my skin from home

  7. It sounds like you have had a great experience with it! Do you know if it helps people who have significant lines and wrinkles (asking for a friend….)
