With Christmas now around the corner, one of the hardest things can be actually finding a gift that is meaningful. Every year, so many mums receive gifts that will be used only once, or worse still – end up stuffed in the back of a cupboard for years on end.
Let this year be different.
Let this be the year that she receives something that will tell her family story, and that she will keep forever – much like this beautiful family pendant created by London jewellery designer Judith Peterhoff.
I recently discovered Judith’s jewellery and I knew immediately that THIS was what every mum deserved for Christmas. Handmade by Judith in her studio in North London, Judith made her first family pendant as a commission for a friend – a pendant for a friend who had just given birth to a baby girl. And what a lovely way of commemorating a child’s birth! Since then, she’s gone on to sell her family pendants on Not On The High Street, one of my absolute favourite sites for shopping for amazingly unique gifts.
The pendant is made bespoke to you, and your family – so for me, we have three people in our family, so that makes three rings – two silver for mum and dad, and one copper, for our daughter (boys are signified with brass rings). The rings can also be made in 9ct gold. All the ring are soldered together, so they ‘hold each other’ in an embrace – the most beautiful of subtle meanings.
As you can see, this makes a beautiful present for any mum – old or new – and is a really special way of keeping your family close to your heart at any time and wherever you go. Now that I have mine, I want to wear it every day as I absolutely love what it symbolizes.
So I say stop looking at spiralizers! This would make such a memorable gift for any mum at Christmas, for the birth of a baby, on a birthday or for Mother’s Day. What do you think?
