Today I wanted to share with you how I use CBD to manage my anxiety, especially as right now, we are living through a permacrisis and an exceedingly stressful news cycle as the events in the Ukraine-Russia crisis continue to unfold.

When the conflict first started escalating, I could feel my anxiety levels rising. That all too familiar feeling of racing thoughts, difficulty breathing and a feeling like someone was gripping me at my throat started bubbling up again. I had to get a handle on this and remain calm for the sake of my daughter who was beginning to feel worried about the war in the East.

When did I start using CBD?

I started using CBD products when I was suffering from really bad anxiety when I was trying to get a handle on my reactive hypoglycemia. Living with this condition in the full throttle of motherhood threw me into the depths of anxiety. Having tried so many other things, I took a punt on using full-spectrum CBD oil to manage my anxiety, and it was the best thing I ever did.

It was like someone had waved a magic wand and soothed that feeling of angst and panic. As if someone had reached inside my brain and my nervous system and turned the dial down. It was magic.

How I use CBD today

I use full-spectrum CBD on a needs-must basis. I used it pretty much daily during the pandemic to manage my anxiety and also to help alleviate any sleep problems that so often go hand in hand with anxiety. There might be a period of time when life feels less crazy and stressful when I don’t use it at all. But as soon as things start feeling overwhelming again – which they very much have the last couple of weeks with the raging sense of unknown – I revert back to using full-spectrum CBD.

Why is full-spectrum CBD good for anxiety

CBD products which harness the power of cannabidiol can be really good for helping to manage anxiety. This is because they work by dampening the stress response and protecting against chronic stress, which means they can help to prevent or treat certain mental health conditions related to stress – such as anxiety.

It can also be used to treat other forms of anxiety, such as social anxiety disorder (SAD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

How do I take CBD products for anxiety?

Personally, when I am taking CBD for my anxiety I take a full-spectrum CBD oil like that from Cannabiva, dosage: 25mg 12000mg morning and night. Sometimes I take it during the day to alleviate my symptoms or as needed. As I mentioned, I take a full-spectrum CBD oil which is essentially an oil rich in CBD, alongside small amounts of THC (up to 0.2%), terpenes and flavonoids. You can find out more about the different types of CBD here.

Scientifically formulated Cannabiva CBD extracts provide the most vital phytocannabinoids to give you maximum benefit. Their products are 100% free from pesticides, harsh chemicals, and heavy metals with no additives, synthetic ingredients, or artificial preservatives. Cannabiva products are triple-tested by ISO-accredited labs to independently verify its powerful purity. And you don’t need a dab torch or any other paraphernalia.

Finding what’s right for you

Everyone is different, but I do think that if you suffer from anxiety and decide to buy full-spectrum CBD oil then you really have nothing to lose. Alternatively, Cannabiva is also offering free CBD samples which may also be a good first port of call if you have never tried CBD for anxiety before.
