Must have autumn wear for mums

autumn wearAfter the frivolity of summer, autumn is the time to back to those wardrobe staples which serve you time and time again. As far as I’m concerned, if you’ve got a good coat, a nifty pair of boots, a scarf, a trusty sweater and a pair of jeans and a hard working bag and you’re pretty much set for autumn. With that said, I’m sharing my list of must have autumn wear for mums, to help you get through those mad school run mornings and everything else that follows after that:

A coat which can hide a multitude of sins

Those afternoons might feel nice during school pick up but brrrrr….just look at the condensation out on the cars in the morning! Plus, you’ll need something to cover up your jumper which has toothpaste and peanut butter encrusted on it thanks to having to execute the completion of breakfast at double time! This duffel coat from The Nautical Company (£235) will have you looking together for the school run, even if you’re really falling apart at the seams!

A stylee scarf

Scarves are a great way of injecting a bit of style into any outfit, with minimal effort. Plaid continues to be a big trend this for autumn wear this year and I love this one (£55) from the collection of Italian Scarves from Attavanti which fits the bill nicely.

A sweater which helps you remember you name

Because quite frankly, on those rushed school mornings, you could be forgiven for forgetting it in the mad dash to the gates. Hopefully if you have one with your initial on it like this one from Getting Personal (£32.99) you’ll be more likely to remember it!

A pair of blissfully forgiving jeans

With a slim leg for a flattering cut, these Cavendish girlfriend jeans from Boden (now £32.50) are made from authentic denim that has just enough stretch to be comfortable for those days when wearing those skinnies just feels too much! Loving the side-trim for that extra bit of flavour.

Some snazzy ankle boots

You could go brown, or black…but that would be so blah! For a much needed spring in your step, opt for this seriously snazzy leather cutout boots…be warned these booties  (£64) are made to order so better get cracking and hot foot it over to iamMERAKIshop on DaWanda.com to bag yours for autumn.

A carry all tote bag

As a mum, if there’s one thing you need to get you through each day, it’s a fabulous sized bag which is super comfy to carry and can be worn over the shoulder. This Stamford Bag from Sophie Allport (£42) will fit all of your essentials in and much more with three secure internal pockets so you never need to fish around for your phone, keys etc. whilst damning your disorganisation at the front door! There’s one ‘zipped’ pocket, one open pocket for your phone and another handy open pocket for other bits and bobs!

  1. Autumn was my favourite time of year in the UK and I’m a firm fan of jeans and biker boots. I’ll be digging mine out this weekend in preparation for a long weekend in Cardiff next week!

  2. Autumn is my favourite season for fashion, I love the colours and getting all cosied up. I love the initial jumper and the bag with the hares on, getting tempted to get online shopping now!

  3. I haven’t got any of my autumn / winter clothes out yet and I’m even wearing my flip flops still… Not for long I thing, but I am a summer lover so I will resist! Love a warm, cosy coat though and that grey one is lovely
