What’s the point of having a picture that nobody will ever see? As a snap happy mama, it’s something I often ask myself. We recently had a family photo shoot and I knew then that I had to make the beautiful portrait work hard for us. That’s where Smartphoto.co.uk came in!

Smartphoto.co.uk is a fantastic website that helps you share your photos, and create stunning photo products. Now armed with our brand new shiny family portrait, I couldn’t wait to turn our gorgeous picture into items that would bring smiles to our family’s faces.

For the mum who doesn’t want anything

With Mother’s Day coming up, I always get the whole “don’t get me anything for Mother’s Day!” warning from my mum. Obviously I nod sweetly, and in my mind completely ignore it.

I have this spider plant that keeps producing babies, and thought – how could my mum resist this plant pot with our recent family portrait on it and a cute little baby spider plant inside it?

A small token gesture for the mum who doesn’t want anything for Mother’s Day. Hopefully she will not be too cross with me once I pot the plant and give it to her!

A special present for my daughter

My daughter is going to be six in a couple of months, and I thought it would be really lovely to give her something she can used on a daily basis and cherish aside from the usual toys. Something that also included our family portrait.

I couldn’t resist getting her a special bowl of her own with our smiling faces on it. Perfect for bringing a little bit of joy to rushed school day breakfasts and tired and grumpy family dinners.

Something for mummy when hard at work

As much as I’d love a picture of our family portrait on my desk, there is barely enough room for my keyboard! I love the fact I could turn our picture into a practical mouse mat to smile up at me. This will help to get me through those days when I’m being hammered by deadlines in the room corner that is my home office.

Keeping them close to my heart

I am an old softie at heart really (although some people may not know it!). I couldn’t resist the idea of keeping my family close to my heart on a silver pendant. I love how delicate our picture of our family portrait looks on this. It’s so subtle and just absolutely gorgeous.

Something for Self Love Sunday

And finally, regular readers of my blog will know that I am organising my first event called Self Love Sunday which is coming up really soon on 24th March (get your tickets here).

I am a sucker for event merchandise and really wanted to create something to commemorate the event. And so the Self Love Sunday bottle was born!

  1. Those are all beautiful gifts! I’m definitely going to check this website out, I already want the place mat and the plant pot for my nan and mums grave. Thank you for sharing x

  2. What beautiful gift ideas, I love receiving personalised gifts and some of these are lovely ideas. I especially love the plant pot idea, I would love one of these with a little cactus or something in for Mothers Day!

  3. I would choose the bowl because it would make my mum smile if she saw a photo of her grandson on it

  4. I love the pendant! I’d have a photo of my mum printed onto it and give it to my sister x

  5. The family portrait necklace is absolutely beautiful l would love to give this to our grandaughters to remember us

  6. I like the mouse mat. I’d give it to my other half so that he has something to remind him of his family even when he’s hard at work

  7. The mug is my favourite and I’d love to gift it to my mother. She’s forever drinking tea so it would be put to good use.

  8. I would get the mug & give it to my Mum so she could look at her Great Grandchildren every time she had a cuppa 🙂

  9. I really love the silver pendant idea, great way to keep a cherished moment or loved one close always.
