What if men had babies?!

Books have been written about it, jokes have been told about it, mothers have mused about it, and now a recent surge in interest in this poignant subject has been felt across the bloggersphere as a drama on exactly that subject was recently shown on Sky Arts about it.

Now obviously being a pseudo granny-mum and perfecting my art of the Reverse Lie-In, I was already tucked up in bed at time of screening but you can find out more about it from Single Mother Ahoy here.

Or else, you can just read my poem that I wrote on the subject….

What if men had babies?

How strange would that be?

Their pecs would become swollen with milk

A baby instead of beer in their tummy

Imagine the body odour

As profusely they would sweat

And the man rage as the hormones

Made them behave like a crazed pet

Oh yes they’d have more to worry about

Than just a spot of man flu

Would they take the whole thing like a man?

Or wish the one giving birth was you?

Yes would what it be like if men had babies?

Would the human race die out?

Just as well it doesn’t happen then

It’s too much to even think about!

  1. Hahaha great poem! I think we would become extinct if men had to bare the babies. Thanks for linking up with #momsterslink!

  2. This is a fab poem and oh so funny! Can you image them suffering from morning sickness? I bet they wouldn’t get out of bed for the whole 9 months!!! Thanks for linking up with #sundaystars x

  3. Love this! I suspect if men could get preggers, there wouldn’t be any sort of controversy about the pill being a medical service here in the US! Thanks for linking with #TwinklyTuesday.

  4. I can only speak for myself, but if I were having a baby it would be an elective c-section in a teaching hospital in a room full of off-white machines that blinked, buzzed and beeped. No water birth or anything like that, gimme medical science and all the benefits it can bring! #MMWBH
