When should you replace your pillow? The time is NOW + #WIN

replace your pillow

Hands up if you currently sleep with a pillow which has most certainly seen better days? Maybe it is lumpy, stained, or has totally flattened out leaving your neck unsupported at night. If you’ve had your pillow for longer than two years then you are already due a new pillow. Crazy as it sounds but it’s true! But not surprising given that according to nanu’s latest research, most of us sleep on a pillow that is over five years old and 40 per cent of Brits have never washed their pillows.. Eek! Myself included.

Time for a change?

I am totally guilty of keeping our pillows for wayyyyyy longer than we should do. I never ever wash them – or have thought to even do so. All your have to do is take the cover off and look at the lumps, bumps, stains and general sadness of our pillows. Honestly, they are an embarrassment! I often wonder what kind of nasties may be lurking in them or on them when changing our bedding, before my mind quickly gets distracted in nano seconds by the next task. It’s not that I’m attached to my pillow, it’s just that…well, life is so busy before you know it a decade has passed and you’re still sleeping on the same pillow! Gross, I know.

But maybe this is something that we should all be giving a lot more thought to? Especially considering that old pillows essentially accumulate moisture, dirt and drool over time. The perfect house party for all sorts of bacteria! Ewwwwwww…..

Your own special pillow

So what if you could get a shiny new pillow to replace your pretty pathetic old model? One that was personalised to YOU and YOUR needs. Not just one that you picked up among a line up of a thousand pillows in a shop or on Amazon because let’s face it, buying pillows can be totally baffling! Get it wrong, and your neck is done for.

Yet having the right pillow is so important. Even more so if you’re someone like me who has wrestled with sleep issues for the best part of a decade. I have been known to even take my own pillow on holiday with me because I know first hand just how much a bad pillow can totally ruin your night’s sleep. All the tossing and turning to get comfortable – and then waking up in the morning like your neck belongs to a camel and your head was resting on a loud speaker all night. Nightmare!

nanu to the rescue!

What if you had a pillow made by a company who understood that everybody sleeps differently? What if you could create your perfect sleep experience, and have a pillow made to the highest standards?

My thoughts on my own personalized nanu pillow

I have been sleeping on my nanu pillow for the last week and here’s what I have found:

Firstly it feels amazing. I have always struggled to find a pillow that will provide me with the right amount of support, but also feel cosy and soft once I lay me head on it.

My nanu pillow is the holy trilogy!

The minute my head hits the pillow, that’s it – it’s comfy. No tossing and turning and trying to get comfortable. No need to move. Just blissful peace and relaxation conducive to better sleep. A bit like my head is being hugged by the wings of angels.

I can’t get over how soft and comfortable it is yet so supportive. Such a hard balance to achieve but my goodness nanu have done it! And please can we talk about how luxurious it feels? I just can’t believe the price tag (did I mention that a nanu costs £35 and includes free delivery, free returns, a two-year guarantee and a 30-night free trial?) given how decadent it feels. It’s like sleeping with your head on a pillow at a six star hotel.

So are you can see, I’m a firm fan. And now here’s your chance to add a bit of nanu to your life too…..

  1. Oh amazing! Love that giveaway and the idea of having a personalised pillow is fab. I think mine is a bit too big for me, I’d love to get just the right one!

  2. Wow, I hadn’t even heard of a personalised pillow until I read this. It looks so comfy! I desperately need some new pillows so will pop over to the giveaway now 🙂

  3. My pillow is old too, but at least yours had a chance to travel the world with you haha!
I genuinely like the idea of having a personalised pillow, I always struggle to find one that is firm enough, and I have to weirdly roll all of them. This, obviously, creates all those horrible lumps and makes even a new pillow look a thousand years old.

  4. I’m guilty of not changing my pillow! I had no idea you could get one personalised, love this idea!

  5. I hold my hands up and admit I have never washed my pillows, I didn’t even know that was a thing. I replace mine every six months or so though as I hate when they go a bit flat or misshapen x

  6. I change my pillow quite often, because I suffer from chronic neck ache 🙁 I used to sleep with two pillows, now I can only use one … but nothing seems to help my neckache. This really looks like a good idea – I think I’ll actually give it a go!

  7. I am so guilty of keeping my wayyy longer than I should I think! This is such a good idea!

  8. Sounds like the pillow struggle is real. Hope those of you that need an update will be lucky in their competition because it really is a fab pillow! x
