Affectionately called the ‘Emerald Isle’ for being the greenest island in Greece, Corfu is a perfect island for a family holiday. It is blessed with a plethora of family-friendly beaches where you can spend endless hours just lounging around together.

Issos Beach is popular among children for its calm and shallow waters. The island is home to one of the most spectacular water-parks called Aqualand that is a sure-shot formula for a day full of fun for the entire family. Another popular place to visit on the island is The Corfu Aquarium, where you can interact with marine diversity in its natural habitat – something every family member will surely love.  


Rhodes tops the list of popularity charts among the most sought-after holiday destination in Greece. There is something for everyone here with Blue Flag beaches in abundance. Lindoa beach that boasts of a stretch of 30 miles of powdery, soft golden sand and warm turquoise waters is favoured by parents for its shallow waters that make it safe for children.

Faliraki and Luna Water Park are where fun is redefined for the entire family. If you want a little more relaxation head to Agathi and Kallithea thermal springs – a glorious way to relax in nature’s lap surrounded by wondrous architecture and history.

Rhodes Town itself is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. With its medieval fortress, car-free cobbled streets and building right out of the fairy tale and captivating views there is a lot to explore here. Children love Farma of Rhodes, which has animals like raccoons, ostrich, camels, and allows the them to feed the animals with plenty of photo opportunities on offer. If you have teenagers glued to their smartphones, Prasonisi has kite and windsurfing for them to forget all about technology for a few hours. 


Regarded as one of the islands preferred for a Greek family holiday, Kos has a long list for activities for each of you. Paradise beach is the most famous child-friendly beach in Kos. A shallow slope into the sea makes it popular among the families.

The island of Kos drips with history. The masterpiece of this historic splendor are the ruins of Asklepion, the ancient hospital which has witnessed the father of medicine, Hippocrates inhabiting Kos. The charming windmills of Kos enthrall both the adults and kids. Meanwhile, Kos Natural Park has lush, green open spaces to run around and an opportunity to observe animals like peacocks, turtles, deer, etc in their natural habitat.

In case you want a different kind of thrill, you can choose any of the water-parks that Kos has. Having a volcanic past has led to Kos having hot water springs. Bros Thermal is one such perfect place to spend your day relaxing admit hot water and rich green environs. 


Crete is one of the most popular islands for a Greek family holiday especially if you have toddlers. It is regarded as one of the safest places to holiday in Greece. The beaches here are breathtakingly beautiful with spectacular caves, shimmering coves, and ruins.

Agia Pelagia, Makrigialos and Matala are beaches your tiny tots will absolutely adore. Its soft sand and shallow and warm waters make it an ideal beach for your little ones. Crete is also well known for its water sports but is more than just its beaches. It’salso a walk through history. The capital city of Heraklion also has an interactive child-friendly museum that adults too can’t resist.


Mykonos’ reputation as a pulsating party designation eclipses the other wonders that it has to offer. It is an island enriched with historical significance with picture-perfect charm and Mykonos Town is perfect for exploring with the entire family in tow.

Better head to Aghios Ioannis rater than a beach is inundated with party- goers and a throbbing nightlife for fun-filled family time. The beaches there are less crowded and an excellent place to spend some quality family time sampling the local seafood items and a dash of traditional Greece. If you have teens, Korfos Bay with water sports is the place to go.
