Worn out parents fancy a massage at home? Urban Massage to the rescue!

You know that feeling when you’re on the floor – you’re bruised, you’re battered, you’re beaten by the never ending hamster wheel which is parenthood, work and life, and you can’t remember the last time you and your significant other had some quality time?

Yes that. So when you’re feeling like that, what could be better than getting a massage delivered to you? Quite simply, a massage delivered to both of you, that’s what.

And so in my frazzled state, I was overjoyed to road test Urban Massage’s at-home professional massage service, for some much needed R&R. It promised to be as easy as entering my postcode, selecting the date and time, the type of massage I’d like and the therapists we wanted (of course, the ones with the highest ratings!) and ta-dah! Booking it. Now the hard part was waiting for Friday afternoon to roll around to be in sweet massage heaven.

But you know what they say, all good things are worth waiting for…particularly massage heaven, right?

Knock knock, who is it? Oh it’s our two lovely massage therapists Daxa and Natasha, here to take us away to the land of bliss. Within a matter of minutes, they busied away at transforming our kitchen into massage central, setting up our beds and creating a mood with music before they unleashed their heavenly hands on to our battered bodies in the form of an Urban Classic massage.

Quite honestly within 5 minutes I had forgotten that I was in my kitchen in a leafy suburb of West London and could have been on a beach in Bali I was so relaxed.

One of the most masterly massages I’ve had in a long time? Hands down. Extra points for not having to leave the house or look a member of the public in the eye in my pursuit for massage happiness? Most definitely. Dribbling all over the massage bed in a state of divine unadulterated relaxation? You bet! Happy as hell that this was an experience that both mummy and daddy could share together? 110 percent.

As far as rebooting your tired selves once the kids are in bed without having to leave the four walls of your house, I’m not really sure that there is another experience to rival this. I’m renaming date night Urban Massage night and think you should too!

The Urban Massage Classic costs £65 for 60 minutes per person. To book your massage at home with Urban Massage visit http://www.urbanmassage.com using the code  MOTHERHOOD10 to get £10 off your massage until 31st December 2016.

  1. This is a very good idea. I’m a massage therapist myself, but I’m written in clients’ contacts as: torturer, because I do pretty brutal sports massage! Your massage sounds lovely and it is so convenient when they come to the house. Thank you for sharing. Alison x #coolmumclub

  2. Oooh I SO need a massage right about now! The combination of being back at work (hunched over a desk all day) and toddler wearing is doing me in. I would love to have someone give me a massage at home – as long as my daughter was somewhere else so she wouldn’t interrupt! #coolmumclub

  3. This sounds like absolute bliss. You simply cannot beat a good old massage and the fact you didn’t have to leave the house (which is code for get dressed and actually be around people) in a bonus! Made me relaxed just reading it! #coolmumclub
