PNursing

If you think you would like to apply your caring nature in the world of medicine, then nursing is one of the first job types you should look into.

The first thing to bear in mind here is that nursing is a wide field, and there are many kinds of nurse within that bracket which you might want to think about.

You could, for instance, look into doing a nurse midwife program and become a midwife. Whatever specific path you do choose, however, you can be sure that nursing is going to be a great way to spend your professional time.

It takes some training, of course, but that is generally paid, and at the end of it you will have a job which is respected by many and which is genuinely doing something truly amazing, day after day, for people of all kinds.

Counselling

Maybe you think you would be better suited in something of a therapeutic setting. If so, one of the first places you are likely to look is in the world of counselling, which is an especially popular choice for those who feel that they have a lot of caring ability to share around.

For this, you will at the very least need to take a counselling course, but these can be as short as a couple of years followed by a period of working under supervision.

You will then perhaps want to focus on dealing with certain clients, or on ensuring that you are treating a certain kind of problem, so that you can specialize – or you can just offer therapy to whomever might need it. This is a challenging, but highly rewarding, role – and one which you might make good use of with your caring nature.

PSocial Work

Finally, remember too that you can always get into the area of social work if you want to apply your care in a slightly different way.

This is a world apart from nursing, for instance, although you still have a duty of care which is the main aspect of the job. You will be working with all sorts of people, so you will need to be okay with that – but if you are, it’s a great job which could bring joy to many.
