What does my Google search history say about me?

Do you remember when they used to say you could tell a lot about a person by what was in their shopping basket. These days I think you can tell far more about a person and what’s going on in their heads by their google search history.

So here are the last 10 things I have googled if you fancy a little peak into my head!

google search history

1 Plantar Fasciitis inserts

It hurts so bad! It’s worse than stepping on Lego barefoot. If you know you know. I have been googling anything to help with the pain and so far plantar fasciitis inserts that you put in your shoes have given me the best relief and are easing my symptoms.

2 Is Gerard Butler married?

So I have a mild obsession with the man, and an instant pick me up when I need a boost is to google something about Gerard Butler. This one proved rather fruitful as apparently he is not married but is looking to settle down soon. I have put the husband on notice.

3 Why is my teenager so argumentative?

If you live with a teen I guarantee you have googled something along these lines. And whilst there’s lots of scientific reasons that don’t really help with your exasperation and screaming into a pillow, it does help to know that this is perfectly normal, and it’s ok if sometimes you flip the bird at their backs as they walk away from you!

4 How many shark attacks are there each year?

Yes I am watching ‘Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters’. I watch anything with a shark in it. Shark movies are a guilty pleasure of mine. If you were wondering, last year there were 47 unprovoked shark bites worldwide. I want to know what goes through the minds of the 24 people who received a ‘provoked bite’. I mean who is out there provoking sharks?!

5 Does Perimenopause cause brain fog?

I seem to regularly google a symptom to see if I am dying, or if it’s just something else we can chalk up to perimenopause. This week was brain fog after I very uncharacteristically forgot an appointment, and spent half an hour trying to remember the word ‘contraceptive’ and ended up calling a friend to help me! The appointment and the forgotten word were not related!

In writing this post I also googled the phrase “chalk it up” because I suddenly doubted if it was a real phrase or something I had made up!

6 Pink Pony Club song lyrics

Admittedly I am not up to date with the charts, but this one is a catchy little number that me and the kids have been singing. Did you know it’s about working at a strip club, and not as I had assumed reminiscing about playing with My Little Pony’s!?

7 What happened to Timmy Mallet?

After trying to explain the game ‘Mallet’s Mallet‘ to the kids.

Everybody say ‘Blurgh’.

If you are not old enough to know what I am talking about you should google ‘Mallet’s Mallet’

8 Best skin exfoliaters

I love my skin care, and right now I am in a long term relationship with Trinny London. I have just treated myself to the exfoliater to add to my growing collection.

9 Is Happy Gilmore 2 suitable for 11 year olds?

My youngest is movie mad, and I am always googling movies he wants to watch to see if they are appropriate for him. If you are interested IMDB have a great parents guide for all movies with a traffic light system. It’s my go to for making a decision.

10 Should I prune my hydrangeas?

No that’s not a euphemism. It’s just that I’ve reached the stage of life where I enjoy gardening, and can often be heard telling my husband “There’s 2 new buds on my rose.” I used to think there was nothing worse than gardening, now I’m hard pushed to find anything else I would rather do, so there is often plant based questions in my google search history.

Conclusion

So there we have a little insight into my head. A perimenopausal Mum who is passionate about Gerard Butler, gardening, and sharks, who is always on a quest to find the best exfoliater.

What did we do before google?

Go on tell me yours…
