The end of the summer holidays means a fresh start. It’s a time to get into new healthy routines, get set up for the rest of the year, and have a September reset. In September, we bring with us a new sense of energy, and we’re feeling ready and raring to go which makes it the perfect time to get your house and order and get some great foundations in place for the rest of the year….and let’s face it, it looks like we are going to need all the resilience we can get with the great cost of living crisis weighing down on us.

So today, I’m sharing some ideas on how to have a September reset, to help you make the most out of this fresh start.

Get healthy again

We’ve had a long sunny summer full of boozy BBQs, holidays and lots of yummy food. If you’ve overindulged over the summer, it’s time to get back into healthy eating, dial down the alcohol, kick start your exercise routine again.

Get on top of all your medical appointments

September is a great time to make sure you are on top of all your medical needs. For example, why not aim to start September with a smile and develop good dental habits? If it’s been a while since you last dental check-up then get it booked in. Have you been putting off seeing your GP about ongoing medical concerns? Make an appointment.

If you’ve been trying to get by with a cracked or broken tooth then now is the perfect time to address this. If you need to have a dental implant but can’t afford to have one then you make one of your September goals to find a trustworthy practice to have dental treatment abroad where plenty of excellent, affordable, professional and cost-effective provision for dental implants can be found. Get your priorities straight

A September reset is the perfect opportunity to think about what you would like to start doing, as well as what you would like to stop doing. To really make the most of a September reset, it’s important to set intentions, and be specific and realistic about them too. Write them down and stick them on your fridge and hold yourself accountable to them.

Loosen up

Having said that, don’t be a perfectionist about this. Things never go to plan and even though you may be keen for things to go a certain way come September, there will always be hiccups and curveballs along the way. Everyone makes mistakes or screws up and that is totally ok! Reflect on why things didn’t go as you had hoped or planned, learn from it, and move on.

Make plans

There are various psychological benefits of having things to look forward to, so make sure your September reset includes plans of things to look forward to. This could be family movie night, catching up with friends, a day trip, a bike ride….the list goes one!

Improve your finances

If you haven’t already got one. now is the time to put together a financial plan to empower and support you through the coming months. Make a plan that keeps your long-term goals on course but also allows you to enjoy the things that matter most in life along the way. This is also the time to get your finances in order if you have overspent over the summer months while living in the month. If you need to get back into the swing of things and clear some debt., you can get back on track by putting a repayment plan in place.
