Spring is a time of renewal, and so if you have an urge to update your home for Spring, then it’s no wonder why. After months of dreary weather and countless storms, the sun has finally made an appearance. So now is the perfect time to embrace the sunlight and spruce up our homes to reflect this welcomed change. Today I’m sharing with you some easy ways to update your home for Spring – all of which are light on the wallet.

Give your front door a Spring feel

One of the best ways to update your home for Spring and give it an instant lift is by treating your front door to a Spring wreath. Although Spring wreaths are usually available in the shops, there are also lots of tutorials online on how to make a Spring wreath like this one from Hobby Craft.

Bring in the blooms

If you have daffodils, grape hyacinths and other early flowers in your garden, take cuttings and bring them inside. Arrange them together in informal displays in different vases – check out LionsHome for some vase inspiration. Don’t be afraid to mix and match for a laid back feeling. Equally, if all you have is daffodils then that’s fine too!

Change up soft furnishings

Switching up cushion covers and putting your Autumn/Winter ones up in the loft once Spring comes is a great way to give a Spring vibe to your living area. Think floral cushions and vibrant throws to bring a bit of Spring joy to your sofa.

Create a Spring centrepiece

We often create table centrepieces for Christmas, but why not for Spring? It can be as simple as laying a flower garland down the middle of your table and placing a jug full of freshly cut flowers at centre stage. Alternatively, you can put some of your favourite Easter decorations together on a tray – think bunnies, wooden eggs, cut flowers and fairy lights.

Carve out a Spring reading corner

Got a lovely sunny spot somewhere in your house? Pull up a chair, table with a vase and flowers plus floor lamp (I found some perfect ones over at LionsHome), and you have a special space to cosy up with a book at any time of day.

Make an Easter tree

We love making an Easter tree every year. All it takes is a few long branches from the garden (you can also ask your local florist if you don’t have any). Put them in a long vase and then hang your decorations on it.

Create an accent wall

Peel and stick decals are a great way of giving a boring wall a new lease of life. Floral walls and leaf prints are the way to go for an Insta-worthy, chic Spring wall.
