It feels so alien to me when I look back on my school days, and that no consideration was given to us staying hydrated. I had a Mr T lunchbox that normally contained a sandwich spread sandwich, a packet of wotsits and a club biscuit. Hello to all the fellow 80’s kids, who drank a strawberry soda stream as one of their five-a-day!
How were we never thirsty? It’s no wonder as an adult I really struggle to get my daily water intake in. Unless it’s a scorching hot day, water just tastes dull! We originally got air up® bottles for the kids as they begged for them, and loved trying all the flavours. But I now have one too as it does help me to drink more water, even though I know it is a Jedi mind trick!

The Mind Trick
Using a world-first scent-based flavour technology, air up® transforms plain water into a tasty experience without any sugar or additives making it easier for children (and parents) to drink more throughout the day. It’s a simple switch that supports everyday well being, while also reducing single-use plastic.
The Flavours
The flavours range from Lime and Orange-Passion fruit to Kola and Iced Coffee with ten others in between. They even do a mocktail pack!
A pack of three flavour pods starts at £4.99. They also come in larger pack sizes. The peach, and the mango and passion fruit are my personal favourites, but there are lots more that I want to try. I love that you can buy variety packs, so you don’t have to have the same flavour day after day.
A great back-to-school option – The Click
Compact, portable, and designed for movement, The Click is the perfect school companion. With its one-click opening and effortless sipping, it’s easy for children to stay hydrated throughout the day from the classroom to after-school clubs. Available in seven colours, each bottle comes with three flavour pods and is priced from £29.99. One air up® Pod adds flavour to at least 5 litees of water! That’s like refilling your 600ml bottle around 8 times.
Why air up® makes sense for families:
- Encourages consistent hydration without added sugar
- Fun and flavourful to keep children engaged
- Reusable and durable
- School bag-friendly
- Stylish bottles to suit every age and routine
Who came up with this amazing idea?
The first prototype for air up was developed by Lena Jüngst and Tim Jäger in 2016 and spent three years in development, including a Master’s thesis on aromas, to combine innovative design and the neuroscience behind the idea and turn it into a real product. Since then, air up has successfully launched in UK, EU, and US, with more than six million customers already.
Where can I buy one?
air up® reusable water bottles are available from their website. One bottle and three flavour pods is priced at £29.99 to £59.99, depending on the colour of the bottle. Each additional pack of three pods (flavouring a minimum of 15 litres of water) then costs between £4.99 to £11.99, depending on the flavour or variety pack.
Conclusion
Durable bottles. Great Flavours. And encouraging kids and adults to keep hydrated. What’s not to love. Can I have one in every colour please?!
We were sent an air up® bottle in exchange for this review.
