Flights to Sochi

Planning ahead to save money is crucial. If you are only going for a weekend, then a piece of hand luggage is enough. Some airlines allow luggage up to 10 kilograms to be carried on the plane, and a light bag is enough to pack alpine ski shoes, snowboard shoes and a change of underwear. This way, you don’t have to pay for hold luggage. You could consider buying a cheaper night flight ticket, but you have to think about whether the difference is worth the 2000 rubles taxi fare from the airport to the scenic spot.

Airport to Scenic Transportation

The cheapest way to get from Adler Airport to Krasnaya Polyana is by city bus. It is generally believed that the long bus time is inconvenient, but there is no similar means of transportation. The 105, 105C and 135 bus line stops are set directly at the gate of the airport, and there are frequent buses during the day.

The driving time to the “Esto-Sadok” ski resort is approximately one hour. Those who want to continue to travel deep into the scenic area must be patient, because the bus lines detour around the villages. But if you want to save money – you have to bear it. The advantage of this route is that it is less traffic. The fare is 150 rubles.

If you want to take public transport, you have to live near the station. The stations are marked on all modern interactive maps, which is very convenient.

An interesting option for public transportation is modern mobile car sharing software. Many Sochi and Adler residents working in Krasnaya Polyana driove private cars to and fro, taking some tourists by the way. They have their own price, but usually 150-200 rubles for tourists. Car sharing along the way from Hong Poliana to the airport is convenient, fast and affordable. But there are subtle differences. You have to download the application software. Your phone should have internet roaming. You have to discuss the meeting place and be willing to go with the time set by the driver. Note: Drivers in Sochi generally don’t want to drive well equipped skiers and snowboarders.

What else is there? The “Swallow” electric train runs from the airport to Krasnaya Polyana. Once a day: departure from the airport at 10:55, at 11:58 at the “Esto-Saddock” station, at 12:06 at the Rosehill Station. Taxi drivers cost about 500 rubles. If you arrive late at night or early in the morning and the bus does not operate, you can only enjoy their services.

Traffic in the scenic area

If you live directly near the lift, you do not need a pick up and drop off every day, which is time-consuming and expensive. But that kind of hotel usually raises the price of accommodation. Secondly, it is more convenient for you to visit only one of the three ski areas, and you will get bored after a few days.

Gazprom Ski Resort and Rose Villa Scenic Area have applied for free shuttle buses from Krasnaya Polyana  and “Esto-Sadok”, but the situation often changes. Those shuttle buses sometimes have them, sometimes they don’t. Therefore, you should always pay attention to the announcements of the stations and alpine ski stations.

The 105, 105C and 135 buses mentioned above, as well as the 61 bus that runs between the villages of Krasnaya Polyana, “Esto-Sadok”, and between the mountain town, Rose Villa and Gazprom. You may not be able to figure out the direction at first, but you can just ask the driver or other passengers if the car you sent is going in the direction you are going. In fact, buses are frequent and cheap, and they will quickly drive where you want to go. The fare is 25-30 rubles, based on distance.

What else is there? Unmarked vans near the stations of the Krasnaya Polyanaand “Esto-Sadok” villages cannot operate. Black car drivers will use facial expressions or gestures to greet other bus skiers or snowboarders to board the bus. The fare for any alpine ski station is 150 rubles. Many tourists use this mode of transportation because it is relatively cheap and quite fast. But it cannot go back and forth. This kind of car is strictly prohibited to park near the elevator, and tourists usually cannot walk behind the barriers, so they take the bus or take a taxi.

If you have a group of three or four people, taxis in the scenic area are completely cost-effective, and you can also bargain. 400-500 rubles can go where you want to go.

Accommodation

There are plenty of accommodation options in Hong Poliana. As the saying goes, it is suitable for all tastes and consumption levels. If you are used to not having to worry about life chores during the rare days of your vacation, then stay in a hotel. Neat beds, breakfast and maybe dinner. Pick-up service will probably be arranged. Some hotels also provide scenic pick-up services. The prices in the villages of Krasnaya Polyanaare 4000-5000 rubles, and there is no ceiling on the “Esto-Sadok” ski resort. The closer you are to the alpine ski slopes, the higher the hotel price.

Apartments and private rooms help save on accommodation costs. A pleasant apartment, with its own double sofa bed, the sofa chair can be opened to make a double bed, the price is about 3000 rubles. It is also a good comfortable choice for two people. If you have a group of three or four people, obviously it will be more cost effective. If you cook three meals a day it will be slightly crowded. But if you go skiing and just need a room to eat and live, then everyone will be very satisfied.

If you prefer to stay in a hotel, choose a place with a breakfast buffet. Although you are not allowed to take out all the food on the plate, it is always okay to wrap bread slices in a napkin, pour a handful of dried fruit or nuts into a small box, and grab a banana or apple.

How to choose a ski pass?

Ski passes for alpine ski resorts around the world are expensive, but if you have a plan, at least you don’t have to spend more.

There are many ways to get the alpine ski pass for each scenic spot in Krasnaya Polyana, but it is not easy to figure it out. First, the ski areas in the Gazprom Ski Resort, Rose Mountain Villa, and Small Mountain City have not yet merged, and each ski area is selling its own ski passes. In short, the Gazprom ski resort is easier, more comfortable and cheaper. Rose Manor has the most types of slides, and skiing there is also the most expensive. The interesting part of the small mountain town is not the slide, but the free ski slope.

Second, because you book in advance and get the all-season ski pass, you can enjoy various discounts held before December 20.

All scenic spots have various packages. If you want to skate enough, buy the matinee and night tickets. If you love to sleep, the afternoon event ticket is more suitable for you. If you are here for a few days and have selected your favorite ski area, you can buy a long-term ticket for the number of days you need. There are many types of package fees, so there may be repeated consumption.
