There is something I just love about clothes in Autumn time. I mean, what’s not to love about cosy layering as the days get shorter and we start slowing heading towards the you-know-what C-word? With that said, today I’m sharing my Autumn style essentials. So here we go, these are the Autumn style essentials you need over the coming weeks.

A printed dress

Just because it’s getting colder, doesn’t mean you need to put your frocks away. Dark floral dresses are where it’s at this Autumn and they can be layered up perfectly with jumpers, coats and tights. I’m currently obsessing over River Island’s Black Sienna Dress.

Some awesome tights

Tights are big news this season, although to be honest every Autumn I spend a large amount of time living in them. They are great to keep legs nice and toasty when paired with a jumper dress or to add a bit of flair with a more adventurous print. UK tights have an amazing selection of tights to choose from (as well as leggings I might add). I am currently obsessed with Jonathan Aston Sweet Roses Lace Tights and the Trasparenze Jennifer Merino Wool Tights range.

A pair of ankle boots

Yes, I know everyone might be raving about over the knee boots, but it’s a bit early for that in my book. A pair of cool ankle boots work perfectly for Autumn. If they can have a pair of animal print of them then so much the better – think cow, snake or leopard. I’ve just picked up a pair of super comfy but very stylee leopard print boots from Clarkes and they are a great way of jazzing up a seemingly ordinary Autumn outfit.

A classic jumper

You know it, I know it. A classic jumper is where it’s at over Autumn. The cosier, the better! Think lighter jumpers which are perfect for a spot of layering and can be whipped off whenever needed.

A go-with-everything coat

You know the one I mean – you’ve probably had it for a few years already because it just fits the bill every time. For the days when you don’t feel like being a walking teddy or fur ball with your teddy or fur coat, a simple and stylish coat will never let you down. I always love H&M for all things coats.

A padded headband

My absolute favourite for greasy hair days, padded headbands are hot news this Autumn. For busy mums like us, they’re a perfect way of looking like we’ve still got our fingers on the fashion pulse without making much effort. As well as for covering up greasy hair on the school run! If you’re hankering after some extra length or volume to your hair you could also consider adding in a sneaky ponytail hair extension.

A beret

Don’t get me wrong, I love a beanie. But we can’t spend the whole Autumn in a beanie…can we? For a sharper look, be bold and brave a beret. The revolutionary accessory is key this season!

  1. Cord jeans in various colours, soft jumpers, espcially in cahsmere and merino, thick tights and warm velvet skirts, comfy boots.

  2. My autumn go to clothes are oversized knitted jumpers and beanie hats. I love layering up and getting cosy.

  3. I love wearing, soft cotton sweatshirts with fun logos on, but they are quite hard to find! And soft jeans, the MS jeggings are lovely!

  4. My Autumn style essentials are bootcut jeans, a few nice sweaters, block heel ankle boots and my coat with the big fur collar :o)

  5. My wife would live in hooded sweatshirts, leggings, and thick socks if she could in Autumn. She came home the other day with a pair of Halloween themed leggings that she couldn’t wait to show off.

  6. Tights :- some thick ones to keep me warm and comfortable. Boots :- With a good sole / grip. In order to keep me safe from slips, falls, etc. As Autumn / Winter brings rain, sleet, snow, etc. So ground may be slippy outdoors.

Nice waterproof and warm anorak. Jeans, a supply of, including variety of colours, straight leg and boot leg. Nice cosy jumpers :- Self coloured., patterned, etc. Comfortable and practical underwear. Some cosy pyjamas, dressing gown and slippers.

Nice warm hat, scarf and gloves set.

    Need to get shopping, now!

  7. Luxury comforts like cashmere is my go to & must haves for Autumn, there’s nothing better than feeling smart but so cosy & luxurious at the same time.

  8. Can’t go without a good pair of boots. Nice and stylish pair for going out, comfy and casual pair for everyday, and thick, warm and waterproof boots for walking in the countryside and dealing with the mud. It’s a mudfest where I live for the next 5-6 months.

  9. A big chunky cardigan/coat – great for those days when it’s dry but chilly, plus knee length boots and a printed tunic

  10. I like a matching scarf and gloves plus a smart, colorful hat. I’m happy to wear thick tights under short boots, but the boots definitely need to have a faux fur lining to keep my feet warm!

  11. Definitely a warm coat , boots , skinny Jean’s and jumpers I don’t like patterned jumpers a nice white one is lovely
