Hate making the bed? Night Owl coverless duvet review

If there’s one thing I detest vehemently in life it’s bedding change day. The bottom line is, I have no problem stopping those beds, but I absolutely hate making the bed. It is hands-down the chore that I detest the most in life. As I grapple and wrestle with trying to get the duvet into that damn duvet cover, I can’t help feeling that I am channeling Manuel from Faulty Towers so farcical it becomes.

Imagine then my delight when I discovered a coverless duvet that doesn’t require any wrestling or sweating to get it into a duvet cover. Man alive, this is the stuff of every mum’s dreams surely?!

Introducing the Night Owl coverless duvet

The Night Owl coverless duvet from The Fine Bedding Company has been an absolute revelation. Not only does it feel incredible offering cosy comfort of a lightweight fibre in either a Summer 4.5 tog or All-Season 10.5 tog, but it also comes complete with its own super soft cover, meaning you’ll never need to grapple with a duvet cover again.

We opted for the king-size duvet which came impressively packaged in a small lightweight bag – a really nice touch. From the moment I touched it, I could tell that it was wonderful quality. It was beautifully soft to touch and you could see that it had been made with great attention to detail from the stitching.

It comes in a gorgeous palette of calming colours perfect for creating a sense of calm in the bedroom including Dusk Pink, Aurora Green (which we fell for instantly), Twilight Blue, Cloud Grey and White Searsucker, and sizes from single up to super king.

What was it like to sleep with?

Aside from the heavenly lack of grappling, I have had some of the best night’s sleep I have ever had in my life with this luxury duvet. I fall asleep feeling like I’m at exactly the right temperature and as if cocooned in the most heavenly feather floating in the sky. I wake up feeling like I’ve just been roused from the most beautiful caress. I kid you not!

How do you wash a coverless duvet?

But how do you wash this thing if it has no cover, I hear you wondering. Well, it just gets better folks. For even more convenience, you just pop your Night Owl duvet (yes you heard right there, the whole thing!) in the washing machine when ready to refresh, and it’s quick to dry in just 90 minutes.

I feel like someone has just handed me a million dollars. Amazing sleep. No more duvet wrestling. Beautifully soft and minimal hassle. It’s only left me wondering….why hadn’t anyone thought of this before?
