Things mums love at Christmas
The magic of Christmas carols
Christmas carols are the ultimate soundtrack in our family as soon as December hits. If you’re a mum, discovering the joys of Christmas carols is an unexpected and significant part of the festive season. This is because it brings the whole family together in a special way. It helps you share something so fundamental that it really is hard to put it down in words. Plus they mean you can be completely silly as you sing and dance with the carols blasting out – the perfect foil to your Christmas antics.
Time with the children
It’s thrilling to see your children grow up and this is especially true during the festive season. When your children are young, you’re able to experience many things that you may not have had the chance to experience when you were a child yourself. You don’t have to worry about being judged for wearing a silly festive outfit or for spending time with your children. This is because your children are always going to love you, no matter what! It’s also the perfect time to spend quality time with your children and have those special moments that you didn’t have time while juggling their school demands and your work.

Festive food and treats
Festive food is a big part of Christmas. If you’re anything like me you will already be planning all sorts of festive foodie delights. My thing at Christmas is to make a Yule Log from scratch and then Christmas cookies with my daughter. Yours might be to make mince pies or Christmas Pudding a month before. Everyone has their own festive food family traditions. Of course there is the big day itself where we all get to stuff ourselves to the brim and then snooze on the sofa during the King’s speech!
Wrapping up in cosy jumpers and scarves
There’s nothing better than bundling up in a cosy jumper or scarf while you’re spending time with your loved ones. Whether it’s at home or in a park, you can’t go wrong with cosy jumpers and scarves. For me, this is when I decide to wear a Christmas jumper every day in the run-up to Christmas. Usually a silly hat or my Santa boppers feature too to create a festive atmosphere.
Decorating the house
Who doesn’t love a house decorated with Christmas trees, garlands, wreaths, coloured lights and more? We also love making homemade decorations including snowmen, gingerbread men, and paper chains. It’s all these little things that adds up to creating a festive atmosphere in your home and one of the things mums love at Christmas.
The feeling of spending time with loved ones
One of the best parts about spending time with your loved ones during the festive season is that it makes you appreciate them even more. It can be easy to take each other for granted during the rest of the year when you are so busy. But during the festive season, you’re reminded just how much your family means to you.

Wrapping up
At the end of the day, Christmas is all about spending time with your loved ones. It’s about Christmas is family and traditions, and all those magical festive moments in between. These are all the things mums love at Christmas. So make some new traditions with your family and loved ones this year. What better way to end off the year by celebrating with your loved ones?
And with that, that’s us signing off for the Christmas holidays. Wishing you all a chilled Christmas and a happy new year. We’ll be back in January, see you then!
