Raising kids is definitely not a walk in a park, and sometimes we can be really flabbergasted by their behaviour. But the truth is, if your kids are acting up and you’re not quite sure why they are giving you attitude or misbehaving, then it could be because there are negative aspects at play at home. The good news is, that it’s more than possible for you to change this by simply putting in the work and by making your home environment more comfortable and supportive.
Use Positive Words
Every single adult out there should know that words can be powerful. When you hear something negative about yourself, you may find that it is hard for you to process it. The same concept applies when raising kids. Children are incredibly sensitive to words, and what you say to your child will stay with them. If you want to help them, then you need to try and watch the way that you talk to them. If you are constantly pointing out what they are doing wrong without giving them praise for being good, then this will cause a lot of negativity in your home environment. If you can, use more positive words as opposed to negative ones.
Be Silly
There’s no better key to raising kids who are happier kid than simply being happy in their company. Show your kids how to be fun, let your silly side loose and also play with them. It’s also helpful for you to tell them a joke from time to time. This is a very good way for you to connect with them, and it also reduces some of the tension that might be in your home environment too. If you can be silly with your kids, then they will feel much safer coming to you when issues do arise.
Get Organised
This might sound obvious, but when you’re raising kids, you have to make sure that your life is organised. One way for you to do this would be for you to create a more positive space. Try and make the effort to get rid of clutter, organise your home so that it is nice and airy and also send some good vibes out. Dark or dingy homes can easily lead to darker thoughts and feelings. If you feel as though your life is in chaos, then you may want to try and utilise time blocks to your advantage. This will help you to get more done in a shorter time period. If you are stressed out over your current situation, then it’s helpful to seek help so that your negativity does not spill over into your home environment. This could involve you trying to apply for indefinite leave to remain, or it could involve you visiting your doctor if you are concerned about your health. Sometimes a positive home starts with you dealing with your own negativity.
Say Sorry
There isn’t a single thing in this world that is more powerful when raising kids than the word sorry. Adults need to try and take note of this as well as kids. When your child is rude to someone else, make them apologise, that being said, you have to do the same, and you need to set a positive example. If you can do this, then you will soon find that your home environment is much more positive.
We hope you found these tips of raising kids in a positive environment useful. How do you try and keep things positive in your home?

we try and use positive words as much as possible
I’ve always tried to be as silly as I can – I can make my kids giggle and it’s the sweetest sound there is!
Honestly was just remembering my own struggle with negativity today and the ways I worked hard to turn around the feelings in our home – so that can focus on joy more than stress.
This is such a good piece. Thank you.
