10 thoughts every blogger has probably had at one stage

Blogging is a weird world. We are all beavering away separately in our corners of the universe, but you know that collectively we are all probably thinking the same thing at one stage or another. So I am pretty certain that almost every blogger has had most of these thoughts at some point….so let’s just get it out there…

1. Why the hell am I doing this?! Aka am I a lunatic?

Blogging is the ultimate fusion of pleasure and pain. A bit like being whipped in virtual form..but still we go back for more.

2. Does anyone actually like what I’m writing?

Or do they just think it’s drivel? Answers on a postcard please…

3. Maybe I should just give up!

Come on….don’t admit you have never thought about it.

4. When the hell will my stats ever increase?

So so sick of seeing that same old figure. You know what they say about a watched kettle right? Just stop it.

5. My god, what if I run out of stuff to write about?

Don’t worry – with the world totally tilted on its axis at present, it’s unlikely that you will.

6. My god, when will I ever find the time to write about all the stuff I want to write about?

The short answer is, never.

7. Is it really bad that my house is falling apart while I blog?

Yes, but if collectively our houses are falling apart then hopefully nobody will actually notice.

8. How the hell do I go about working with brands and do I even want to go there?

Don’t worry, just be awesome and eventually it will happen. Most probably even if you had thought you didn’t want to to begin with, it will probably happen anyway.

9. How the hell do I get off this hamster wheel I’ve created?!

Hmm….still trying to find out the answer to that one.

10. I never meant it to get so serious….

We’re all in this together. Good God, what monster have we created?

  1. Yes, yes, yes to them all!! Every day, I wake up and say ‘shove it, nobody is reading it, it’s going nowhere, it’s no fun anymore, everybody hates me, I’ve got nothing left to say, I’m shutting it down!’ But then I’ll get a nice comment, speak to my fabulous online friends, and have a little inspiration, and there I am back to ‘no way can I give this up!!’ It’s like blog Groundhog Day!! Xx

  2. So, SO true! haha Loved the last one! When I made an apple pie, what seems like eons ago now, and decided to show the world, I never expected how addictive it would become! It’s definitely a love/hate thing, but wouldn’t be without it!

  3. Bwahahaha….Yep, these go through my HEAD all the time. One minute, I am “Yeah!” and the other minute, I am like “Yeah, whatever.”

  4. Have you been in my head?! Love this sooooooo much. It’s a miracle that my house is still standing, the kids and the husband have gone feral and I have a constant battle when it comes to working with brands. I only started blogging for fun – whaaaaaaat happened?!

  5. I can’t agree more this post is so true. Especially wondering if people actually like what you’re writing about or thinking my traffic is still the same figure.

  6. Always wanted to write a blog, but thought I might have those worries (esp. about the house) – now I know they’re normal (?!) I might just get on and do it!!

  7. As I’m nearing the end of my maternity leave I find myself think “how will I ever blog when I have to work full time” then go ahead and stick a baby and the housework in that equation and I guessing I’m pretty much screwed!! #coolmumclub

  8. Hahaha! The first 7 I can totally relate to – and I’ve only been a ‘blogger’ for 2 months… EEEK!!! I love this #coolmumclub

  9. Every single one of these, every single day! Love the hamster wheel analogy, and it’s funny knowing that behind all of our Instagrammed photos, our houses are all a collective bombsite haha. Very funny and psinfully true! #coolmumclub xx

  10. I have had every one of these thoughts. Especially “when did this get to serious”!!! You totally hit the nail on the head. I have to actively disengage in the evenings so I can get some quality time in with the hubby before I fall asleep on the couch.

    Loved this post!

  11. Haha yup. I am guilty of thinking all of these! Just last night, I said to my hubby “sometimes I feel like I’m on a rollercoaster that I can’t get off!” I’m glad I’m not alone! #CoolMumClub

  12. Totally agree with all of these, especially my list of things to write about. It’s huge since Tall Boy arrived but time to blog has been limited. Just have to fit it in when I can, and like you say, the house falls apart a little around me – priorities hey! #coolmumclub

  13. Reading the comments this is, ‘bloggers unite’! You are certainly on to something here. The most overwhelmingly huge thing for me about blogging, is the way in which it sucks you in…for all sorts of reasons. You have summed-up many of the spin-offs from blogging very succinctly 🙂 Alison x #coolmumclub

  14. Ha, you are so spot on Talya! You know me well enough to know I have certainly had a few ‘Stop the ride I wanna get off’ moments! Still here though!
Thanks for being my #coolmumclub Front carriage on the linky rollercoaster buddy Mwah xx

  15. I think you’ve just read my every thought at the moment! I think I could tick almost every one of those right now, especially the “When the hell do I find the time to write all of the stuff I want to write”? I have posts from camping trips, holidays all now left too late I fear… there’s always next year! #coolmumclub

  16. Oh I have had every single one of those thoughts. And what would I add? Tonight, maybe ‘how can I increase my internet speed so it doesn’t crawl slower than my daughter did towards nursery this morning?’ (that’s pretty slow). But I think that might just be me… 😉 #bloggerclubuk

  17. Amazing… I would add… When will my friends and family get totally sick of me saying ‘oooooh I could blog about that’ or ‘take a picture of me and Ill put it on my blog’! My poor partner is basically my photographer now bless him <3

  18. Yes yes yes yes every single one of them!!! I got it more after #Bml16 actually cos I was spurred on and inspired and also it was the start of the school holidays shortly after….suddenly the two clashed horribly!!! Blogging is utter fantastic madness. #coolmumclub

  19. Hehe this made me chuckle when I saw it the other day! I don’t even look at stats, I do it for the love of writing. However that said I do want to work with more brands so maybe I should?! It’s not really a business for me though and I enjoy having the luxury of just writing what I want, when I want. Fab post xx #coolmumclub

  20. Haha – I can definitely relate to the hamster wheel! I always feel a constant pressure to post and feel like my blog will be doomed if I miss a week – like this week for example! But what do you know, it’s still there! I would also add the constant need to take photos of everything and say things like ‘that would make a good instagram pic’ – I even annoy myself these days! xx #coolmumclub

  21. I’m pretty sure we can all relate and ass long as us bloggers stick together we’ll be fine…. But that will never explain to my non-blogging buddies (who will never understand) why my house is always in a bad way. I’m constantly walking around with a camera around my neck and they get very nervous if I look at them for too long.
