How to adjust your mindset and look great in a bikini

look great in a bikini

Anyone can look great in a celebrity bikini or a bikini off the rack, it doesn’t matter where the bikini comes from, it’s how you carry it off. There might be disbelievers that think you can only wear a bikini if you are a size two or smaller but they are wrong. You can look great in a bikini as long as you follow the following steps.

Follow these three steps to look great in a bikini

1. Embrace your curves or lack thereof

Not everyone is going to be a tiny little waif. If you’ve got ’em, flaunt em. Not everyone is going to be curvy either, so flaunt what you’ve got anyway. The current body positive movement is nothing if nobody is getting on board and showing the world that you don’t have to be a certain size or shape to be beautiful. Women of all statures can wear whatever they want, as long as it makes them feel pretty because that’s what counts. Wear it for yourself, not for anyone else. Your preference should be the only one that matters when it comes to choosing bikinis or clothes for yourself. Because ultimately, you’re the one in them!

2. Believe in yourself

Because nobody else will. This might be harsh but when you discover you are powerful on your own, you’ll stop giving power to others. It’s easy to say you don’t care what others think, but you need to walk the walk and not let naysayers bring you down. If you’re feeling good about a particular bikini, put it on and rock it. If you don’t let the compliments of others bolster your feelings, you won’t let those who criticize you affect you either. The importance of valuing your own opinions is something that we all learn too late in life. Don’t let it control you another day longer. As Dr. Seuss once said, “those who mind don’t matter, those who matter won’t mind” and it’s true. Those that love you for who you are won’t judge you or your choices but support whatever decision you make for yourself. Even if it is just a bikini. If you need a little encouragement to build your self-confidence, counselling is a great place to start. Naya Clinics are just one of the many options that provide online counselling so you don’t even have to leave the comfort of being behind a screen.

3. Don’t compare yourself to others

Back in the Golden Age of Hollywood, the general public was brainwashed into thinking that celebrities were indeed in a class of their own. They were not aware of how heavily each photo is doctored, how images are produced and the health standards of the general population. Today, with social media on the rise, it’s easy to take a glimpse into a celebrity’s life and admire their “perfect” bodies and lifestyles. You won’t be able to help yourself, comparisons will come easy, especially when you throw social media influencers into the mix. But that’s where you need to take a hold of yourself and tell yourself that people come in all shapes and sizes, just because you don’t fit their mold doesn’t make you less beautiful. Take a look at Marilyn Monroe, one of the most beautiful women and put her next to Audrey Hepburn. Total opposites, both beautiful and unique in their own way. At the end of the day, recognize the fact that nobody can judge you unless you give them power to.
