Are you always looking at other people wondering why they seem to look so stylish? Why is it some people always just seem to look effortlessly fab whilst you feel like fed up and frumpy? It’s annoying fact of life, but some people just always get it right when it comes to what to wear. Today I’ve teamed up with Personal Stylist Natasha Edge of Appearance and Attitude to share these style tips these people know but are not telling you.

PLUS we have made not one but two videos to help you be fully in the know about how you can totally own your mum style. So let us begin!

The three pillars of style are colour, shape and personality. Let’s start with….

Colour

Colour is the basis to start looking good and feeling great. Understanding your colours is truly transformational, you will feel better, you will look better and you will get compliments!

Imagine knowing exactly which shades made your skin glow and your eyes sparkle giving you a fresh and youthful feel. Imagine knowing which shades to avoid so you no longer make expensive mistakes.

Now let’s talk makeup – once you know your colours, you will have a much better idea as to what colours and makeup looks work best for you too. Imagine finding that elusive perfect lipstick or lip gloss shade to complete your look? Yes, now THAT’S what we’re talking about.

Shape

Whatever your shape or size, there are particular fabrics and fits of clothing that will make the most of your figure and flatter you in all the right places.

Your shape and stature also determines which patterns will work best for you and how to colour block effectively. The impact of knowing which fabrics and cuts of clothing work for your shape is huge. Not only does it mean you feel fabulous in your clothes, it also boosts your body confidence and makes shopping so much less stressful too.

Style Personality

Style is a way of saying who you are without having to speak! One of the main reasons we get stuck in a style rut is because our style doesn’t reflect our personality. We start sticking to the same styles and colours all the time and don’t feel confident to experiment. Understanding your style personality and how to reflect this in your outfit choices will give your wardrobe a whole new lease of life and inspiration.

  1. I’m definitely guilty of not having enough colour in my wardrobe! I find it easier in the summer months, but I need to mix up my autumn/winter wardrobe 🙂

  2. I tend to wear the same things over and over. I did buy a yellow top a while ago though and every time I wear it I get a compliment, I certainly need to think more about colour!

  3. Colour is the biggie with me. I’m comfortable in black, navy, plum … autumn/winter colours. Yet when I dare to wear something bright, everyone comments favourably

  4. My wardrobe is mostly different shades of blue, with some pops of mustard. And lots of stripey tops.

  5. I’m like this in the summer, I hate the scorching weather as I never know what to wear. I’m far from stylish in the summer. Normally jeans and a tee!
